Good-bye July

This July was a month of firsts for Gianna. She got her first haircut a couple of days ago at Art Hair on the Oeder Weg. Dominik the hairdresser spoke English, gave Gianna a lollipop, and all was well. She didn't cry a bit and he only charged us €5, which was a huge bargain compared to their list price.


Today I picked up some sweet corn, wild buleberries, and fresh bratwursts at the Kleinmarkthalle, a large indoor farmers market near the Zeil. Gianna helped me husk the corn and was über excited to eat it off the cob for the first time. At first, she started eating it vertically, and even tried to eat the nub. But after watching Bố and Mẹ chow down, she switched to the more traditional corn-eating technique. She went back for seconds, but this time it had to be eaten on Mẹ's lap.
